Real estate purchase and credit management

Opportunities for foreign people to acquire real estate are limited. A foreign person cannot purchase ownership of agricultural and forestry land. The remaining properties are apartments, residential buildings, cottages and other building properties, construction plots.

The acquisition of real estate requires a permit, which must be applied for at the competent county government office.

No authorisation is required if:

• He inherited the property
• It does not prejudice the public interest,
• or the interest of the municipality
• the foreign person is a sole proprietor
• want to carry out economic activities
• He wants to live in Hungary permanently
